Vision

At The Vine Community Church, our vision is to Listen to God's Word, Encourage with God's Word, Live God's Word in our community and Share God's Word to a world in need of a Savior.

The following are a few biblical truths that we hold to be true according to the scriptures:

God

We believe that God has always existed and is the creator of everything. The Bible does not try to prove Gods existence it only tells us that He is here and He is not silent. God is the one who reveals Himself to His creation but even with all of the studying of who He is we will never grasp how awesome He is.

Psalms 139:6; Romans 11:33

Jesus Christ

Jesus was God in the flesh (Colossians 2:9) who came to earth to put us back into a right relationship with Himself. He was fully God and fully man and lived on this earth with a sinless life. (John 15:10; 2 Corinthians 5:21) We could not earn our salvation and only the perfect sacrifice could be made on our behalf so God came in the form of Jesus Christ and paid for our sins personally. (1 Corinthians 15)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God which draws all men to Him through enlightening the minds of men with the truth and through the conviction of sin. It is the power of His Spirit that allows us to live the life we are called to live for Him.

1 Corinthians 2:9-11; Colossians 1:28-29

Trinity

We believe that God exist in three entities but as one. The word “Trinity” is not in the Bible but the concept of God being three distinct persons is. Each part of the trinity is fully God and this is confirmed throughout scripture. To simplify the Trinity is not only difficult but dangerous because to do so can lead to false thinking about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:9

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God given to us through human authors who were inspired through the Holy Spirit. We believe it is without errors and trustworthy to guide us in the things of God.

Luke 16:16-17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12

Humanity

Human beings are Gods special creation that He created in His own image. Human beings are not equal with or did they evolve from the animal kingdom but were created and designed uniquely by God Himself.

Genesis 1:27

Sin

We believe everyone is born in sin and separated from God. No one is good and no one can be good enough to make it into Heaven by their good works.

Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10; 5:12; Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation

There is only one way that we can enter Heaven and back into a relationship with God and that is through Jesus Christ. It was the work of Jesus Christ on the cross that saves us from our sins and not the works we do. We believe everyone has an opportunity to be saved who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins.

John 3:16-17; 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1Timothy 2:4

The Final Judgment

We believe that everyone will give an account to God for the life they lived. For Christians they will claim the free gift of salvation through Christ and for non- Christians they will be judged by their works which will not be accepted. (Romans 8:1; Ecclesiastes 12:14) Christians will be judged and given rewards for what they did for Christ because their sins have already been paid for by Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:10)

Life

We believe life begins at conception and that each individual is a special creation of God designed specifically for His purposes. God designed each individual as either a male or a female.

Psalm 139; Matthew 19:4

Marriage

We believe marriage is ordained by God between a man and a woman where the two become one flesh. Marriage was not man’s creation but was Gods design in forming a family. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6) Every wedding is considered a Christian worship service and will be treated as such.

Angels

We believe that angels are Gods agents created by Him to carry out His will. They are protectors of believers in Christ (Matthew 18:10) and can be present among us at any time. (Hebrews 13:2) At the end of time they will separate Christians from non- Christians. (Matthew 13:36-43) Since Angels are created beings we are not to worship them or call on them for help. We do not become Angels as they are separate creations by God.

Satan

We believe that there were Angels that rebelled against God and were thrown out of Heaven. This Angels that the Bible calls demons exist on earth until God ends time and begins again. Although these demons are powerful they are not as powerful as the Spirit of God that lives in each Christian.

1 Chronicles 21:1; Isaiah 14:12-15; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:1-10

End Times

We believe that we should always be ready for Christ return because no one really knows when He will. There are many views of the end times but we believe that our lives should be lived in such a way that no matter how God brings about the end of the earth that we would be found faithful at His return. (Mark 13:32-37) We are to live our lives as always being watchful of the events taking place but never alarmed by them. (Matthew 24:6)

Evangelism

We believe that it is the responsibility of every person who follows Jesus to tell others about the love and grace they can receive through Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20
